| The outrigger canoes arrived the morning by the Tahiti Nui 8 ship were immediately weighed by the ACOHV. Some were ballasted because they were too light, then parked in a field, reserved for this purpose, close to the communal buildings. However, many va'as has underwent some modifications to avoid being ballasted. Like every year, the population moved in mass to watch this weighing and the other various animations.

| Today, the Hawaikinui Va'a organizing committee, chaired by Elise MAAMAATUAIAHUTAPU, invited the whole partners and sponsors to a press conference in Fare Hotu located in PIRAE.
All the points of the event were approached with like priority:
- The fight against the wasting in restoration and especially, like each year, with the safety of the paddlers and the many people who follow the caravan of Hawaikinui as well on the ground as on the sea throughout the three days of competition.
Safety on arrival in Bora Bora also was re-examined. A team of official will take care that the adult spectators and especially children do not make imprudences while trying to reach the paddlers.

| At a few days of the last great sporting event of the year, the preparations are activated to be ready in Huahine, starting point of a 3 days odyssey which will bring them to Bora Bora after 128 Kms of effort. This year they will be 105 seniors men crews including 16 veterans who will open the festivities starting from Huahine. Among them, 3 crews of Hawaii and one of Marseilles (France).
For the 28 taurea and the 20 va' has hine, it will be for afternoon in Uturoa and on only one stage. This list, nonfinal, could undergo some modifications until November 10th day of the 1st stage departure. The organizing committee says it's ready to welcome foreign teams if they made the request. Some having recently expressed their desire to take part of the adventure.
TEAM Opt was declared victorious in 2009 after having gained 2 stages.
A press conference will be taken place for this occasion on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Tahitian Va'a Federation headquaters in Fare Hotu from 9 a.m.

| In order to avoid any misunderstanding and so that the race is carried out under the best possible conditions, it is kindly requested to you to impregnate you these new texts while downloading in the heading “Guides Club”.he Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the Tahitian Va'a Federation Commission of the Statutes and Payments, proposes to you for 2010 its new rules arranged for a better readability of the texts.
A general payment of the races, a payment specific to each category, a scale of the sanctions re-examined and rehabilitated, modifications on the starting procedure, etc… is thus put to you with provision on the site.
In order to avoid any misunderstanding and so the race unfold under the best possible conditions, it is kindly requested to you to read these new texts. You can download them in the “Rules” area.
