In memory of the father of the va’a, Rataro and his team coming from the Marquesas Islands will carve, from a trunk of tree, an outrigger canoe in 48 hours. The carving strarted this afternoon at 1.30pm.

According to Rataro, this homage is dedicated to the “One” who wanted to organize a race as prestigious as Hawaiki Nui in Marquesas Islands. Unfortunately, he did not have time to do it. Congrats and thanks to Rataro, his team, and the Marquesas Islands for this generous and wonderful initiative.
